HUDA was founded in 2014 and officially registered in 2017 as a Community-Based Organization (CBO). The organization is dedicated to transformative approaches that strengthen community resilience and promote the inclusion of vulnerable youth, women, and minority groups in governance and decision-making processes.
The term “HUDA” is an Arabic word meaning “Guidance” (Uongofu or Mwongozo), reflecting our commitment to guiding the community in the South Coast region of Kenya towards development, inclusivity, and engagement.
All our programs are anchored in a strong commitment to human rights and civil rights, particularly for youth, women, and persons with disabilities. We recognize that empowering these groups is essential for creating inclusive and equitable societies. Our programs are designed not only to address immediate needs but also to promote the fundamental rights of individuals, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.
Our “Do No Harm” principle guides all our actions, ensuring that our interventions do not inadvertently worsen existing inequalities or create new vulnerabilities.
To further enhance accountability and safeguarding, HUDA has established a progressive Community Accountability and Reporting Mechanism (CARM) framework and administrative policies.
Join us in making a difference! Your support, whether through volunteering, donations, or partnerships, helps us continue our vital work. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive society.
